Carlos Olavide

Bio: Carlos Olavide is a charismatic dancer, educator, and cultural ambassador whose journey in dance began in the vibrant traditions of Venezuela and Peru. With two decades of teaching and performance experience, Carlos has developed a dynamic and inclusive approach that inspires students of all ages to find confidence, creativity, and joy through movement. As an instructor, Carlos specializes in making dance accessible and engaging for children, youth and adults. His programs weave together cultural history, rhythm, and storytelling, helping students connect to both the artistry and the deeper cultural roots of Latin and Hispanic dance.
He has performed at various Latin festivals in the Greater Toronto Area. His recent achievements include performing with Carlos Bastidas and the Ontario Pops Orchestra in celebration of Latin Heritage, and winning First Place at the Argentina Tango Ontario Open Championships during the World of Dance Classic and The Blue Mountain Dance Competition (2025). Samita Nandy

Bio: Samita Nandy is the Founder of the Centre for Media and Celebrity Studies (CMCS), an honorary member at Feminist Media Studio (Concordia University), and a filmmaker in Portugal. Her federal and provincial funding grants of $140,000 led to her Doctorate in celebrity culture (Curtin University, Australia). Samita Nandy is the first celebrity scholar to be an actor & dancer, and has been publicized for her views in a wide range of media, including CBC National News, CBC Entertainment, Global News, The Telegraph, VICE, Flare, Chatelaine, SUN, and Yahoo! Anton Deyogolos

Bio: Anton Deyogolos is a Toronto-based freelance cinematographer with a passion for capturing movement, emotion, and story through the lens. Beginning his journey with dance films, he developed a keen eye for rhythm, light, and the poetry of motion—skills that now inform his work across a range of genres, including weddings, real estate, brand, and small business productions.
Driven by both creativity and technical precision, Anton approaches every project with a focus on quality and collaboration. He believes great visuals start with great communication and works closely with clients to shape ideas into cinematic reality. Whether crafting an intimate dance piece or a polished commercial reel, his goal is always to bring depth, beauty, and authenticity to the screen.
When he’s not behind the camera, Anton enjoys developing personal creative projects that explore new storytelling techniques and visual styles.
