The Centre for Media and Celebrity Studies (CMCS) is an international organization that helps coordinating academic research and media commentaries on celebrity culture. CMCS carries a pedagogical philosophy that inspires integration of research and media skills training in academic and public discourses of fame. The centre believes in intellectual, aesthetic, and ethical values of bridging gaps in higher education and media. With this view, CMCS helps coordinating research, publications, creative productions, and media commentaries to restore artistic and ethical acts for social change.
For this purpose, CMCS offers a library where academics, artists, and aficionados can explore readings and creative productions in relation to fame. The purpose of the library is to empower and engage in thoughts, productions, and publishing on media and celebrity culture. While most books, articles, and audio-visual material are available in digital formats, other material can be accessed at libraries and book stores.
The centre aims to extend the library and connect with readers and cultural producers through lectures, seminars, and workshops. We also archive current research in our video series.
